We have recently completed the planting of over 20,000 trees across 5 areas around the Haithwaite Site. Two of which have new walking paths though them. The circular walk runs from the beer garden at Pentonbridge Inn and loops over Glendinningrigg over a 1.3km distance. The link walk that meets the other public right of ways and will also give access to the site on foot once complete, is 1km.
The trees planted are a mix of native broadleaf, mainly Alder, Oak and Aspin. This planting was completed to enhance the landscape ecology and social inclusion and the Directors of Netherby Hall Ltd recently welcomed over 50 people who live in the local area to walk the paths and find out more about our project and goals. It was great to see so much support and also discuss all the exciting plans we have for the area.
